Page walked through the open market, occasionally weaving through and around stalls. She liked to do so at least once a day to see if there was anything new in the open market. She usually went at lunch time but today she hadn't had time to take a lunch break with so many customers.
So it was evening, just as the sky turned orange that she was walking through the market. As she was going along she bumped into someone blue.
"Sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going." She stepped back a bit to get a good look at the other pony. "Do I know you from somewhere?"

Fascinating.
The orange sky was fantastic. The colors were caused by the sun's setting and Celestia had done a beautiful job guiding the colors into the sky.
The blue pegasus Rain Shadow was easily distracted by anything weather related. She wasn't Ponyville's weatherpony for nothing. She didn't feel the need to look where she was going until she felt herself being bumped. She caught herself on her hindlegs and looked at the brown and green earth pony she had bumped into.
"Um..." Rain Shadow flicked her tail in response to her question. "Well, uh, you own the bookstore, right? I... I read books on weather. Do you like weather, too?" The pegasus looked up hopefully. It would be nice to find someone interested in weather as well. She was a studious pony - maybe she found weather patterns interesting too.

"Oh!" Page felt quite guilty now. "So you were one of my customers?" She made it her mission to remember everypony that came in so as to be able to recommend other books to them later. "I'm sorry. I should have remembered you."
She dug through her brain, trying to place what this pony had bought. Suddenly! A flash of inspiration!
"Wait a second. You are the weather pony."

Rain Shadow scuffed one hoof and nodded in response to the brown pony's questioning.
"Er, well, that's all right. It took me a moment to place you as well." She conceded. Well, the conversation wasn't going too horribly yet.
At her title, Rain Shadow stood up straighter. Her voice quickened, warming to her favorite subject. "Yes, that's me! Did you know that we have cloud cover coming in tomorrow? There's going to be a lot of cumulus, and some fishscale clouds. Of course, they're not called fishscale clouds, that's just what they look like, they're actually --"
The blue pegasus remembered where she was and who she was talking to. She bit her lip for a moment before murmuring. "Er, I'm Rain Shadow, by the way. Weatherpony is fine, though, if that's what you want to call me. Might be easier to remember, I guess..." Her tail twitched.
"Er, what's your name again? Sorry, I'm not so good with names that aren't related to clouds or weather patterns... Did you know that because of fluid dynamics, we can create air currents?" She started up eagerly again, wondering if the other pony would understand.

As the weather pony, Rain Shadow, chattered about wind and the weather, Page's mind wandered. She was thinking about comparing what books she had with what the library had.
She was called back to the conversation when she was asked her name. "Oh. Its Page Scribbles. Page will do fine."
"Um....I think I have a book on that."

"Oh, um, hello Page! Or, er, hello again, since I think we've met." Rain Shadow chuckled weakly. She blinked and bit her lip. Conversation that wasn't weather...
There! "Oh? I'd love to read it! You can never learn too much about weather in my profession. What's it called?" The blue pegasus asked eagerly. Now there was something she could safely talk about - a book about weather!

"I think it was called Weather Patterns and You." Page couldn't remember where she put it though. She hoped the other pony wouldn't ask her any more about it.
"So.... Do you like your job?"

"Weather Patterns and You... I'll be sure to look into it the next time I need a book, heh." Rain Shadow bobbed her head eagerly. And now she would have a reason to talk to another pony - she would have a friend!
"Oh yes, I love my job. It's my calling. And I get to talk about weather without being looked at strangely!" She chuckled. She knew full well that most ponies didn't understand weather at all, but when she didn't know what else to talk about, the topic that earned her her cutie mark was usually a safe bet.
"What about you? Do you like your job?" The pegasus asked, before another question struck her. "What kind of books do you read?"
