Pony's name: Locket Pony's age: A young filly, about 15-16 in human years! Type of pony or animal: Unicorn Pony Pony's cutie mark and special talent: Locket's cutie mark is a star. Locket loves to make wishes on stars in the night sky! She has a very hopeful, positive philosophy when it comes to life. Locket dreams big, and does whatever she can to help make wishes {her own, as well as everypony around her!} come true! Employment: In addition to making wishes, Locket also has an affinity for pretty sparkly trinkets. Locket decided to combine her two loves and opened up a booth in the Ponyville Marketplace called 'Locket's Lovely Luckies' where she sells hoofmade good luck charms! Locket is always collecting pretty sparkly odds and ends, and she uses her unicorn magic to make them into beautiful dainty good luck charms for her fellow ponies. Current city: Ponyville
Appearance: Locket has a silky snow white coat that gives off a slight sparkle during sunset {which is her favorite time of day!} Her cotton candy pink mane and tail are soft and flowy, and give off an ever-so-light scent of lavender. She adores ribbons, and always has at least one tied in her mane and/or tail! Her eyes {which are framed by long fluttery eyelashes} are a golden buttercup yellow, which perfectly matches the satin cape she often wears in the evenings. Her cutie mark is a smiling sparkling star, which is also the same pretty shade of buttercup yellow. Her light pink hooves are always in tip-top shape, and she prides herself on keeping them sparkling clean! She is a very graceful pony, and is quite light on her feet. She's a bit smaller than the other ponies her age, but she likes to think that the biggest dreams come in the smallest packages!
In her human form, Locket looks like this:
As you can see, she retains her pretty pinkness and is still adorned with sparkly stars and ribbons! She always wears something pretty and girly, and would never be caught dead in something other than a skirt or a dress! She has too much fun twirling and pirouetting, especially in those moments where she's feeling a bit more whimsical and dreamy than usual {and she's pretty whimsical and dreamy to begin with!} She's quite slim with very little womanly curves to speak of, and is only about 5 feet tall. She loves to wear sparkly high heels though, which lends a few inches to her tiny stature.
Personality Locket is a very sweet pony, and loves to make new friends. She’s very good at keeping secrets, and can always be relied on to lend a listening ear. Locket loves to help out her friends, and is always willing to help a pony in need. However, due to her extreme generosity and willingness and to pitch in, she sometimes bites off a bit more than she can chew! Locket loves to make wishes, and she always wishes on stars in the night sky—shooting or not! Locket is a very patient pony, which makes her a natural with the youngest fillies and colts! She’s very compassionate, and hates to see anypony sad. If she sees that a fellow pony is in poor spirits, she’ll do her absolute best to cheer them up! One of Locket’s philosophies in life is that anything is impossible, and you can always achieve your dreams. While this extreme optimism is often times endearing, Locket can at times be a little naïve and blind to certain things. She just wants so badly for everypony to be happy, that it can be almost impossible for her to accept certain hard truths about life. One thing is for sure, in Locket’s world, the glass is ALWAYS half full, and she can pretty much put a spin on just about anything to try to get other ponies to see things in the same way! Staying true to yourself is something that Locket holds near and dear to her heart. She never judges a book by its cover, and believes everypony should embrace their true self and follow their dreams, no matter how impossible they may seem. When it comes to food, Locket has a sweet spot for all things…well, sweet! She loves to bake quirky tasty treats like vanilla passionfruit tartlets and cinnamon chocolate éclairs! She also loves all things sparkly and girly! Locket is a bit of a scaredy pony. She gets especially nervous when it comes to heights, spooky locations, and being around a pony she has a crush on. When Locket gets particularly nervous, the blushy pink spot on her nose grows pinker, and…she speaks in rhyme. At the end of the day, Locket is just a sweet happy pony whose one true wish is to help everypony make their dreams come true!
Background For a pony full of so much hope and optimism, Locket did not have the happiest of beginnings. Locket never knew her father, but never felt as though she was lacking in the area of familial love. Locket’s mother, Starlight, was as doting and affectionate as could be. Starlight was also a beautiful dancer, and even owned a small pony-ballet studio with her best friend Twirl. Locket loved to watch her mother teach ponies how to gracefully dance to the pretty music. Although Starlight loved to dance, her main passion was stargazing. Starlight loved to study the night sky and knew all there was to know about the stars and constellations. Locket was fascinated with the twinkling lights that appeared every night, and loved listening to her mother’s interesting facts about the starry galaxy. Though her earliest years were ones filled with laughter, happiness, learning and love, things took a very sad turn when Locket was only 6 in human years. Starlight had fallen very ill. Starlight was a very beloved resident of Ponyville, and helpful ponies from the community did their best to heal Starlight and relieve her of her ailment. However, after several weeks of no improvement and things going from bad to worse, it was clear that Starlight would not be getting better. Starlight did her best to stay strong for Locket, and did all she could to instill lasting lessons of hope and love in her last days on earth. Locket was confused, and couldn’t quite grasp that her mother wasn’t going to be with her anymore. On what turned out to be Locket’s last night with her mother, the two were spending the night camping outside of their cozy home. Starlight gave Locket a tiny glass bottle, filled with sparkly bits of white glitter and teensy paper stars made of shiny yellow paper. A gleaming, pink, heart-shaped gem twinkled brilliantly in the itsy bottle as its main attraction. It was sealed with a light tan cork, and was strung on a dainty ribbon for Locket to wear around her neck. Locket’s mother told Locket that it was a good luck charm, and explained that that meant it was a small token to bring you luck and hope, even in the darkest days. If that wasn’t enough to mesmerize Locket, a shooting star streaked across the sky at that very moment. Locket had never seen such an awe-inspiring sight. Locket knew from her mother’s teachings that a shooting star was an extra lucky kind of star and a wish made on it would be even more powerful than any other wish. Locket closed her eyes and wished with all her might that her mother would never leave her, and that Starlight’s grace, beauty, love, and hope, would remain with Locket always and forever, no matter what. Starlight and Locket went to sleep soon after Locket made that first extra special wish, and devastatingly, Starlight did not wake up. Locket was taken in by Twirl and her quiet, shy husband Whisperhooves. And though Twirl was a wonderful mother to Locket, she could never be quite like Starlight. But most of all, Locket was crushed and angry that her wish wasn’t able to save Starlight. Locket spent many months grieving in a state of utter confusion as to how and why this had to happen. But with the gentle, understanding, patience of Twirl, Whisperhooves, and her friends in Ponyville, Locket began to accept her new family and her new life. And soon, Locket realized that the wish she made that fateful night had, in fact, come true. Though Locket only got to spend 6 short years with her mother, the lessons and love Starlight shared with her daughter lived on in Locket’s heart. There was a piece of Starlight in Locket, and she grew to accept that even though her mother might be gone in the physical sense, Starlight was still with her after all. As Locket grew older, she began to take on some of the qualities she had always admired most in her mother. Best of all, she felt connected to her mother every time she looked up at the stars. That with every wish she made, and every wish and dream she helped a pony realize or fulfill, her mother was somehow guiding her, smiling down on her from the night sky. The power of Locket’s first wish on that shooting star was so wonderful and comforting to Locket that she knew she wanted to help ponies everywhere make even their wildest dreams a reality. Locket vowed to honor her mother by carrying on in the only way Starlight would have wanted: for Locket to love and care for everypony just as her mother had loved and cared for her, and to never underestimate the power of a pony’s true wish.
Anything else you'd like to add: Not right now! I will probably add more to this app once I get further along in the series {I've watched the first 11 episodes so far!} and thus learn more about Equestria and the ~pony ways~ !
